Summary:

Personal report. The author was responsible for the interior administration of the Jewish camps at Vught, which he organised and supervised most efficiently. He gives a lucid description with many important details of life and conditions in the camps. The general state of health was normal (p.26-27); special care was taken of old people (p.30). The output of forced labour in the camp industries represented a substantial surplus for the SS (p.28-30). In March,1944, when all Jews had to leave the camp, the author got permission to deposit his diary at Westerbork, but he did not find it again, after the war, nor could he discover the documents and files of his office deposited there.
