Description
- Title:
- Two letters from the N.S.D.A.P. regarding a Wehrmacht officer with a pro-Jewish attitude
- Summary:
-
Two Letters from the NSDAP, Gau Franken, signed: Kreisleiter Gerstner, regarding Eichmeister Lieutnant Nagel, who, in any way, stood up most courageously for the Jews, ‘even’ telling his soldiers, that Jews are human beings like others and to be treated accordingly.
One of the letters is addressed to the Wehrmachtsbezirkskommando Nuernberg II, drawing the attention to Nagel's political ‘unreliability’, the other warning him directly.
By the irony of fate after the war, Gerstner's daughter fell in love with an American soldier, a former German-Jewish refugee, whom she married and Gerstner himself is dependent, on the financial support of his Jewish son-in-law. Includes remark by E.G. Reichmann.
