Description
- Title:
- Collection of 14 documents regarding the refusal of German authorities to issue passports to illegal emigrants to the Netherlands
- Summary:
-
These 14 documents are affidavits from persons who found themselves stranded in Holland without valid legal papers. All of them had to flee from Germany to save their lives: some of them had been in concentration camps, prisons and police stations and were threatened with new arrests, had they applied for passports; others were refused a passport because they were Jews. The fact that they were now “illegal emigrants” was made the excuse by the German authorities for refusing the issue of a passport.
